It’s hard to put into words what this time is like since most of us have never lived through anything like this. For myself, not a lot has changed. Both my husband and I work from home and we don’t have kids. We’ve also been ordering most of our life online for over a decade to save time. But our parents are in the high-risk category, which means we can’t see them, in fact, we haven’t seen any of our family. We are very worried about the economy and friends and family who have recently retired or are about to, not to mention all of our loved ones who own businesses.
My work has been effected, and so many of our friends’ have as well, which is why we’re doing our part in supporting their businesses while staying home in order to not expose anyone unnecessarily. We are doing our best to be smart but not completely paranoid and fearful. The people we are listening to are the scientists and experts in this field and ignoring most everyone else. We’ve stocked up on a few things, but in no means have a bunker with ridiculous amounts of toilet paper or powdered food. We’re exercising from home, watching too much TV with our quarantine snacks and our dog is getting even more attention than usual, if that’s even possible.
Speaking of TV… I am known amongst friends (and even a Hollywood screenwriter or two) for having this completely useless talent of knowing what all the good televisions shows are. I can usually tell what’s going to be a hit just by watching the trailer (Netflix, I’m available to consult any time).
